Prosody in signed and spoken

An Israel Science Foundation sponsored workshop on PROSODY IN SIGNED AND SPOKEN LANGUAGES was organized by Wendy Sandler and Marina Nespor, bringing together experts on prosody in languages in both modalities for the first time.
A special issue of the journal Language and Speech (42, 3&4) published selected papers resulting from the workshop.

The study of the universal and particular grammatical properties of sign languages is the primary goal of the Sign Language Research Lab. But a sign language, like any other language, exists in the context of its community, and the activities of the lab extend to this community as well.
